We Are Looking For Volunteers
Volunteer with Us at The National Great Blacks In Wax Museum
The National Great Blacks In Wax Museum is more than a museum—it’s a living institution dedicated to preserving and sharing the powerful stories of African American history and heritage. We rely on the support of dedicated volunteers to help us create meaningful experiences for visitors of all ages.
We are currently seeking volunteers to serve in the following areas:
Docent
Lead guided tours for students, families, and visitors. Share the stories behind the wax figures and bring African American history to life. Training is provided.
Front Desk / Greeter
Welcome visitors with a warm smile, answer basic questions, and help ensure guests feel comfortable and informed.
Office / Administrative Assistant
Assist with clerical and organizational tasks that keep the museum running smoothly behind the scenes.
Educational Programs Assistant
Support the delivery of school programs and workshops that connect youth and learners of all ages to history in meaningful ways.
Youth Programs
Engage young people in fun, educational activities that inspire pride, curiosity, and leadership.
Event Support
Help with setup, coordination, and guest assistance during museum events, community programs, and special celebrations.
Maintenance
Contribute to the care and upkeep of the museum’s building and grounds through light repairs, cleaning, and lawn or garden care.
